Dr. Minaxi Sharma is an Assistant Professor in the area of Food science and technology at China Beacons of Excellence Research and Innovation Institute in University of Nottingham Ningbo China (CBI-UNNC). Her research area is dedicated to advancing the future of food by developing cutting-edge food processing technologies, nanoencapsulation strategies, and innovative green extraction methods for food waste valorization to develop smart and functional foods. She has 9 years of professional academic and research experience in the area of food technology, nanoencapsulation, food waste valorization for valuable plant-bioactive nutrients, green processing technologies, and the development of functional, smart and vegan foods.
Dr. Sharma has earned global experience by working in different countries of the world i.e. India, Estonia, Belgium and China. Dr. Sharma has been awarded with ‘Young Scientist Award’ (2020); with prestigious “The BEWARE Fellowship” co-funded by the Marie Actions Skłodowska-Curie of the European Commission from 2021-2024 (Belgium), and have been listed among World’s Top 2% Scientists by Elsevier and Stanford University ranking (2023). Dr. Sharma is the editor of few national/international journals including, Scientific Reports – Nature, Biofuel Research Journal, Frontiers in Nutrition – Frontiers, Indian Journal of Microbiology – Springer, Journal of Food Biochemistry – Wiley, Journal of Food Processing and Preservation – Wiley, etc. She is a well-recognized researcher (h-index: 40) and has published about 180 peer-reviewed publications in reputed journals.
