Nurul ‘Ain Azizan

Dr Nurul ‘Ain Azizan is an Assistant Professor at the School of Biosciences, University of Nottingham Malaysia.She received her PhD from Universiti Malaya in 2020, with her research focusing on dietary modification intervention among low-income urban with hypertension. Her research experience is mostly on community nutrition, focusing on salt intake, dietary habits and nutrition-related non-communicable diseases. Her current research interest is on hypertension and obesity, with focus on dietary patterns of young adult and dietary modification and intervention. By examining the dietary patterns, it also can be closely linked to their food environment, as the types of food available and accessible shape what people eat, which brings in another interest in food environment study. Currently she is part of the Food Environment in Transitioning Economies (FETE), a multidisciplinary project aims to establish a shared understanding of problems and opportunities and to develop solutions to shape food environments in South-east Asia and Sub-Saharan African countries
