Dr. Presentación García Gómez holds a Ph.D. from the Technical University of Cartagena (2006) and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Granada (1999). She began her professional career in 1999 as a research fellow in the instrumental analysis laboratory, focusing on the development of food analysis techniques using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
From 2001 to 2004, she served as head of the pilot plant at the Technology Area of the National Technological Centre for the Canning and Food Industry (CTNC), where she led its commissioning and contributed to research projects involving process development and novel food products.
Since 2004, Dr. García Gómez has been the Coordinator of the Technology Area at CTNC. She leads a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for technical consultancy, R&D projects at national and international levels, and specialized training for industry professionals. Her research focuses on sustainable extraction technologies for bioactive compounds and biomaterials, food technology, and the development of innovative processes for functional ingredients, clean label formulations, circular bioeconomy applications, and advanced food processing technologies.
Dr. García Gómez has led numerous research projects, authored peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, supervised several doctoral theses, and played a key role in establishing the current infrastructure of the CTNC pilot plant.
